Way back my ancestors were German, but they decided to go to England and there they changed their name to sound more English.
In 1890 my great, great, great, great grandparents came over from England to Australia for a better life.
I am so proud to live in Melbourne on its 175th birthday because of the living conditions. I really appreciate this because some people don’t have the nice homes that we have and have to live in the streets, getting food whenever they can.
There are lots of different countries’ foods so if are not comfortable with the food in Australia, you can have your own.
The transport is also easy to understand. So for other people from overseas who don’t know how to drive a car they can take the bus, taxi and even the train.
I like living in Australia because my ancestors have been all around the world and they chose Australia to live. They have lived in Germany, England, Scotland and even Ireland.
Australia has lots of entertainment like TV and football. There are also lots of sporting opportunities like football, soccer and cricket.
Melbourne is a very multicultural city. You cannot go a day without seeing someone from another country. I cannot believe it has been 175 years since Melbourne was settled. I think we have grown together to become one spectacular city.
