My family is very multicultural, mostly Australian and Sri Lankan.

My mother came for a better life when she was very little, so I was born here in Australia.

My mother moved here in 1980 when she was 12 to Toowoomba, Brisbane with her family from Sri Lanka. She left because her father retired. She grew up in Sri Lanka and moved for a better life with her mother, father, two sisters and a brother.

She studied in Melbourne and met dad on a plane. She got married and moved to Sydney.

She had better opportunities here than anywhere else, so she decided to stay here with her family. She liked the weather conditions here and she was happy here.
