Labor MP and federal minister for Calwell, Maria Vamvakinou offers an honest appraisal of refugee and asylum seeker policy saying both parties are to blame for making the issue “political.”

She suggests a bi-partisan approach is necessary, but only a regional and global approach will solve the refugee problem.
