NOA

NOA began singing at the age of 8 with the Bankstown Performing Arts School Choir in 2001.

It was here that his young talent was first recognised. He also participated in a few episodes of Saturday Disney on Channel 7, and was the spokesperson for the Disney on Ice: Jungle Adventures later that year. He also won the Roselands Talent Search Competition.

He was later signed by a small Sydney label and worked tirelessly in the studio for many years, writing for himself and others. At just 16, NOA was honoured with the Jaanz VIP Industry Award which resulted in an offer to join British record label, Juicy Musik, in the United Kingdom. Choosing to stay and help support the Australian music scene, NOA began performing and working on demos and performing locally. Crowds started to notice his intricate style and acknowledged his ten year dancing background under the instruction of Darren Disney, who was an original “Tap Dog”.

After news spread of his live performances, Korean television show KPOP Superstar offered NOA a place on their programme, but due to schooling he could not attend. After an unfortunate label stand-still, NOA’s dreams came crashing down halfway through 2012 when he parted ways with his local Aussie label. Rather than crushing his musical dreams, it has only made him work harder. Armed with a camcorder and some friends, NOA began filming video clips, writing and recording songs in his makeshift studio – establishing his own Australian-grown record label in the process.

So far 2013 has seen the release of these NOA’s individual endeavours, with well over 150,000 views on YouTube and the beginning of his television comeback on a hit music program.

NOA was a part of The X Factor Australia this year, where he received a “yes” from three judges and was a fan favourite during the competition.

His debut promo single “Villain” was released in September, and has since embarked on a signing tour in Sydney and Brisbane to meet his fans. He will be visiting Federation Square in Melbourne on December 27 to greet his existing fans and to introduce himself to new ones. He will be taking the time to talk about the importance of providing children with musical outlets, and show them first-hand that drive, passion and a love for what you do can lead to impossible dreams coming true.

NOA is an activist for the freedom of expression through media, and promotes the idea that music tells a different story every time you hear it.
