‘Tears in Melbourne as PM delivers apology’ ran the headline from The Age newspaper on 14 February 2008 when then Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd, delivered his historic apology to Australia’s Stolen Generations.

Thousands of Melburnians gathered at Federation Square to watch it on the Big Screen. Tears were shed, the crowd gave a standing ovation and messages of support filled the screen, sent by members of the crowd from their mobile phones.
