As a photographer, I have been part of the SITHOM exhibition for the past three years, highlighting life in the heart of Melbourne.

“Shot in the Heart of Melbourne” is an exhibition which acts as a fantastic way to view the heart of Melbourne from the viewpoint of a range of photographers. You will see Melbourne parks, city life, skyline and a range of activities that make Melbourne unique. Personally I have always skulked around the central streets for inspiration, places like Bourke Street, and the lane ways, while others look to Federation Square or the many parks for inspiration and the opportunity to capture Melbourne as the wonderful city it is.

Melbourne offers so much for the photographer as it is colourful and culturally diverse where you can immerse yourself in the events of the urban landscape and produce images which speak to the viewer.

Street Photography is not about just a photo of the street, but captures emotion where the viewer can become part of the image. Street Photography must allow people to become part of the scene and experience the emotion of the street.
