Living in Melbourne

Two hundred years ago, the early settlers of Australia arrived.

1400 people came, half who had been sent to serve their sentence for crimes committed in England. Their journey took nine months on old creaky sailing boats, to reach wild untamed lands.

In contrast, two years ago, I migrated with my family to this wonderful country, Australia. A place where people are appreciated as individuals and can freely choose their way of life. A place where people are proud to be part of their nation.

From the quiet mornings in the suburb to the night time parties in the city, Melbourne is a city full of colour and grandeur. In this magnificent city everywhere you look has something for everyone. If you enjoy intense sports or if you enjoy going to a quiet book club in the public library, Melbourne hosts many activities for people of every kind.

Anywhere you go is not far away from the sea, the snow and the sun. Everyday living in Melbourne is like living the dream.

Australia is a country where there are opportunities for anyone to grasp. An example is that my father obtained his current job in Australia and this is the reason we left our original country, Malaysia. We can all come from different backgrounds and heritages, but we are all Australian.
