It is our privilege to present to delegates and guests attending the InSEA World Congress 2014 Creating Connections – artwork by students from Independent schools in Victoria.

Independent Schools Victoria has assembled a collection that captures the congress theme of Diversity through Art. Students of all ages and year levels have created 150 artworks in many styles and media.

The highly creative two- or three-dimensional and digitally-generated works represent the emerging global culture of communicating driven by image more than text. Messages, values and views are synthesized from infinite sources and delivered through multi-platform and blended experiences to an audience that transcends restrictions of time and space.

The new global language is visual, speaking to audiences everywhere in a multitude of voices. Its connections are vast and various. This is why the Arts in its many manifestations, such as this exhibition, are more profound than ever before in their messages that are able to resonate.

Through their artworks, students not only make and offer points of connection but they think critically and creatively. As they develop their artistic skills students establish deep knowledge and understanding across a range of academic disciplines that will help guide them into the productive and prosperous spaces of the future.
