I truly heart Melbourne

MIFF Industry

Coming from regional Victoria, I guess you could say I am a ‘country girl’. However, nothing has suited me more, no coat, nor shoe, than Melbourne.

Melbourne posses an effervescent culture, that encapsulates everything I am passionate about: fashion, art, film, music, and theatre.

I have always loved this city, and as I completed my VCE at my regional public school, I had one goal: get into university and move to Melbourne. I didn’t take a gap year, unlike the majority of my class. For me, it was straight to the place that has held my heart for as long as I could remember.

Melbourne has always been a part of my life.

My family and I often went on weekend trips as I grew up. Back then, through my young eyes and out the car window, the city looked bigger, shinier, like the future and how right I was. Now, at the age of 19, I have lived here for two years, away from my parents, and I remain wide-eyed.

Each day is new a new adventure for me, Melbourne boasts a sticking amount of things to see, do and explore. This city provide me with bigger opportunities and possibilities.

Looking at the sun setting behind the shiny skyline, out of the window of my train as it leaves Richmond Station, I think: Melbourne is my past, present and future.
