Recently we purchased property in Broadford Victoria and on the property is a large spring dam.

We asked the vendor if there were any fish in the dam?

Her reply was “we have never fished it, we only swam in it”.

So one day Gary (Bumpy) started to throw a line in. The first few days nothing was caught, then the Yellow Belly was the first out which made Bumpy very excited.

Then a week later after Bumpy’s first miss, to his and my surprise, up came the Murray Cod!

The rumour in Town is that the Dams in the area were stoked by some old local fisherman some 20 years ago.

Below are the pictures of the two fish and you will be happy to know that both are back in the dam to live another day.
