I was born in South Africa but moved to the UK when I was about 12.

I met my husband Jeff there and we eventually moved back to South Africa where we settled and had three children.  As the crime was getting progressively worse and we didn’t see much future for our children, we jumped at the chance to move to Australia when Jeff was offered a transfer to Melbourne.

We lived  in Melbourne for our first year before moving down the coast to Mount Eliza.  We love having a relaxed and easy lifestyle in this beautiful coastal town yet still being near enough to travel into Melbourne for some city activities.

I still get homesick for Cape Town which is such a beautiful city, but of course I don’t miss the crime and violence that accompanies the South African lifestyle these days.

Its also good to be able to earn a currency that is stable and has worth elsewhere in the world.

I work from home making jewellery which I sell online. This enables me to take care of my kids so I feel very lucky.
