Gabriel Jesus has delighted Arsenal fans with images of him training with a football again as he continues a return from injury.
Posting the shots with the caption, ‘I miss you’, Jesus was back in club gear and the gym, but still looked a way off the training ground as he did keepie-uppies with just socks on.
Jesus, a £50million summer signing from Manchester City, hasn’t set foot on a football pitch since picking up an injury on December 2 while at the World Cup with Brazil.
It was soon revealed that the striker had picked up a serious knee injury, which required surgery upon his return to England.
Ahead of the Gunners latest game, a 2-0 Premier League win over Tottenham, manager Mikel Arteta wasn’t too positive about his star forward’s prospects.
“Hopefully we will have Gabriel back for the final months,” he said. “It was a serious injury, a bit longer than we expected it.
“He is going to do everything he can to make it shorter but we’ll miss him for a while.”
However, there’s clearly been some progress for Jesus, who’s now been pictured back with a ball at his feet.
The 25-year-old has five goals and five assists in 14 league games for Arsenal this season, and was proving to be an astute signing from title rivals Man City.
But even in his absence Arteta’s men keep marching on, winning four and drawing one of their matches since the World Cup ended.
